Are you Making the Most of Your Meetings? Idea 1

If your day mirrors many of clients, you spend much of your day in meetings. The following ideas have helped my clients to optimize the time spent in meetings whether they are running the meeting or attending as a participant.

1. Build an agenda with buy-in

Give your employees an opportunity to help set the agenda.

 One president of a real estate company in Texas gives his employees up to three days prior to the meeting to provide his secretary with issues they would like to have placed on the agenda.  The president reviews the suggested topics in an effort to finalize the agenda.  If a topic or issue is not to be included on the agenda, he will notify the individual who requested it and will provide an explanation.  Once he finalizes the topics to be covered at the meeting, his secretary sends out the agenda.
